The Spiritual Awakening Process by Christine Hoeflich | Book Review

I’ve never read into the topic of spirituality before, but I like to keep an open mind on these things. When I was sent a copy of The Spiritual Awakening Process: Coming Out of the Darkness and Into the Light by Christine Hoeflich to review, I was quite interested in learning the philosophies associated with spiritual awakening.

In this book, Christine breaks down many theories associated with the level of human consciousness and how it relates to the astronomical alignment. This book was originally written back in 2012 to coincide with the ending of the Mayan calendar, which is an event in itself that had many theories behind it. Christine has now re-written the book with a fresh perspective and understanding of how human consciousness is being affected currently.

There are many interesting theories about spiritual awakening in this book, and Christine offers up some interesting points to research. One of these theories is that perhaps the Mayan calendar could have been a few years off. She rarely passes off any such theory as fact; instead it’s presented as something you should consider. This prevents the book from coming off as eccentric, which I assume is how some people may view such beliefs.

The pivotal point of the book is that humanity has now reached a defining point in our spiritual history; therefore our world is changing from the Age of Darkness to the Age of Light. The book suggests that we should make appropriate steps to ascend in our consciousness by allowing our ego (our physical presence) to unite with our higher-self (our soul). The theory is that our higher-self has an ultimate purpose for us that we’ll only be able to comprehend once we become one with ourselves.

Spiritual Awakening

At the halfway point of the book, Christine begins listing the steps that one should take to attain the power of a Shaman and fulfil your divine purpose; many of these steps include meditation techniques. She often includes some of her own life experiences as an example of how her inner-guidance has led her to do the right thing. There’s also a question and answers section towards the end of the book that includes questions from readers of both Christine’s blog and her other books. A few of these questions seem slightly dated; as though they were from when the book was originally published, but the answers have been updated slightly.

If you’re interested in learning more about Shamanism and some interesting theories regarding spiritual awakening and how it relates to astronomy then it’s worth checking out this book. At just 136 pages, it’s easy to get through while making notes. Taking notes is recommended as the author often encourages the reader to do additional research on certain theories.

The Spiritual Awakening Process: Coming Out of the Darkness and Into the Light is an easy to understand and well researched introduction to the theories associated to spiritual awakening. It has even made me interested in learning more about the many theories; many of these theories are good food for thought, even if you don’t particularly believe in them.
