Author J.F. Penn Announces New Book Map of Shadows

After reading Desecration earlier this year, I have a new found respect for the work of author J.F. Penn. Now she has announced her new book called Map of Shadows that will surely have us tearing through the pages later this year.

Map of Shadows is said to follow Sienna Farren, who inherits her Grandfather’s map shop in Bath after he is mysteriously murdered. She soon learns that her family is bound to a secret organisation known as the Ministry of Maps. With the help of Mila Wendell, a traveller on the canals, Sienna discovers her unique abilities and the terror that lies ahead.

I know that author J.F. Penn is an avid traveller who is credited for having vivid descriptions of the settings her scenes take place in. Bath is one of my favourite English cities so I’m looking forward to experiencing the location through the eyes of her characters. J.F. Penn also knows how to deliver exceptional pacing in her stories. Even her novellas make you feel as though you’ve experienced a full novels worth of intense thrills.

Seeing as both traditional and dark fantasy is a new obsession of mine, be sure to look out for a review of Map of Shadows here in the coming months.
